Nikko is special. Despite, my visit there in 2005 this trip was different. (Yes, of course, Jon was by my side this time.) This trip there was snow on the ground, I could see my breath, and it was raining...you would think this combination would make for an unpleasant visit but the temples tucked away in the old growth forest were all the more tranquil. I found it surreal to inhale the air and stand amongst trees so old...Wouldn't it be wonderful if they could talk and share their history and all they have witnessed over the centuries?
I would like to return to this special place once again when the sun is out and the cherry blossoms are blooming to see it all yet once again in a different season.
Love,
D
